INTRO BIO

Hello everyone! My name is Chase and I do a bunch of random, little marketing and promo things for the Medium Baby team. First and foremost, I am the author of the Medium Baby newsletter; Baby Babble which promotes artists, local art and music events, community-led initiatives and key stakeholders in the Niagara music scene. Furthermore, I currently support the development of Medium Baby’s flagship music festival; Vertigo (which I may or may not have had a hand in naming while I was suffering from a dizziness-causing ear infection) through conceptualizing the lineup of performers, disseminating marketing materials and conducting interviews with artists for promotional use.

MUSICAL BACKGROUND

I have a pretty diverse and expansive musical background. I had started playing guitar at 11 years old alongside my twin brother, Jesse (who also happens to be a member of this team!). From there we played in a few local bands and spontaneously gigged once in a blue moon. Fast forward a few years and eventually joined GoLive, a Brock University music club where we met all the fellow Medium Babites. This really expanded not only our music repertoire as players, but also allowed us to cultivate connections in the local music scene. Presently, I play guitar in a local band known as The Dwindles and moonlight as a drummer and lead guitarists for pretty much anyone that wants me (including my partner, Sophia De Luca, another MB team member!). Fun fact: The head honcho, Kirk Danuco, has referred to Jesse and I’s music knowledge as encyclopedic. I just see it as us being really big nerds.

FAV ARTISTS/GENRES

As many musicians and music-enjoyers know, it is an impossible task to label any artist or genre as your “favourite”. Music as a creative landscape ebbs and flows continuously as do our respective tastes. So for now, I will give you the artists that I currently jam out to regularly alongside their genres and best work!
